Impact for the Creative Sector
At Versa Media Group, we work closely with local authorities, national government bodies, industry organisations, and regional leaders to support the continued growth of film, television, media production, and the wider creative industries across the UK.
Through our work alongside Versa Studios, we contribute to initiatives focused on studio infrastructure, inward investment, skills development, workforce training, and the long-term growth of the UK screen sector.
Recent engagement has included participation in the launch of West London Screens: The Hidden Engine of the UK’s Convergent Screen Industries, a major report from the University of West London, co-funded by boroughs across West London and the Old Oak and Park Royal Development Corporation (OPDC). The report highlights the national importance of West London’s screen sector, home to over 6,000 companies generating more than £70 billion in annual turnover.
We continue to work closely with regional and civic leaders including Cllr Peter Mason, Leader of Ealing Council (London Borough of Ealing), Dr Rupa Huq MP, Member of Parliament for Ealing Central and Acton, Andy Burnham, Mayor of Greater Manchester, and Cllr Bev Craig, Leader of Manchester City Council, supporting ongoing discussions around production growth, skills development, investment, and the future of the UK’s creative economy.
Our recent activity also includes engagement at MIPIM and UKREiiF, contributing to conversations around media investment, regeneration, and creative industry growth across the UK. At MIPIM Cannes, Versa Studios Co-Founder and Executive Director Charlie Ingall joined industry and civic leaders to discuss Manchester’s position as a leading global destination for creative production and investment.
We have also supported industry collaboration with ITV and civic leadership at Versa Studios Manchester, bringing together key figures from television, production, and local government to explore innovation, talent development, and the continued expansion of the North West’s screen economy.
